Prof. Carlo Monaco is Associate Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Director of the Master in Prosthodontics and Implant Prosthetics. Specialist in dental materials, esthetic prosthodontics, and digital technologies, he holds a Ph.D. in Dental Materials and a Ph.D. in Materials Science. Awarded multiple AIOP and CONSEURO prizes, he is an internationally published researcher in prosthodontics and implant dentistry.
Prof. Carlo Monaco is Associate Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Director of the Master Program in “Prosthodontics and Implant Prosthetics: Traditional and Digital Technologies.” He is recognized as a leading expert in prosthodontics, implant prosthetics, dental materials, and digital dentistry.
He graduated in Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics in 1992 from the University of Bologna. His academic and research career has been strongly focused on esthetic prosthodontics and restorative dentistry.
From 2000 to 2003, he served as Visiting Researcher at the Department of Cariology, School of Dental Medicine, University of Geneva, directed by Prof. Ivo Krejci, where he deepened his expertise in adhesive dentistry and dental materials.
In 2003 he earned a Master of Science and in 2005 a Ph.D. in Dental Materials from the University of Siena under the supervision of Prof. Marco Ferrari. In 2013 he completed a Ph.D. in Materials Science at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bologna, strengthening his expertise in biomaterials applied to prosthodontics.
From 2006 to 2019 he worked as Researcher at the University of Bologna. In 2017 he obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor (MED/28).
He has authored numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals and received prestigious awards:
