Post-Endodontic Restorations and Sonic Technique: A Practical Guide for Precision and Clinical Efficiency

This course aims to provide a clear and practical framework for choosing the appropriate restoration after endodontic therapy, offering a few essential clinical parameters to help clinicians make effective, simplified, and predictable decisions.

Special emphasis is placed on the integration of sonic instrumentation during the prosthetic phase, adding significant value by improving:

  • Marginal precision in indirect partial restorations.

  • Clinical ergonomics during both the preparation and cementation stages.

With a straightforward approach focused on real-world application, this course is an essential resource for dentists seeking to update their restorative protocols with minimally invasive, high-precision techniques.

Course Program

Introduction to Microsurgical Endodontics

  • Fundamental concepts and current trends.
  • Use of the operating microscope for improved visualization of the surgical field.
  • Evaluation of surgical techniques with enhanced precision throughout the entire procedure.
  • Long-term predictability thanks to the microscope. Ultrasonic tips for retrograde preparation
  • In-depth exploration of surgical procedures for apical sealing.
  • Creation of the ideal retrograde cavity preparation.
  • Use of specialized ultrasonic tips to access any root canal.
  • Use of the sonic system.
  • Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) and other biocompatible bioceramics.
  • Projection and discussion of clinical videos showcasing microsurgical endodontic procedures performed in all areas of the mouth.

PRACTICAL SESSION:
Each participant will be provided with a microscope for hands-on practice on a dental manikin.

Does manual canal scouting still make sense today?
An overview of modern canal shaping techniques using reciprocating (ProcodileQ) and rotary (FQ) systems.

Explore the role of endodontic pretreatment as a key factor for both endodontic and restorative success.

A comparison of obturation techniques:

  • Warm vertical compaction

  • Carrier-based techniques

  • Latest-generation bioceramic sealers

Emergency management in endodontics: how to act promptly and efficiently.

Focus on cutting-edge equipment:

  • Endo Pilot and EnGo motors

  • Step-by-step irrigation protocols, with activation using sonic and ultrasonic inserts

Complex retreatments: strategies for achieving predictable outcomes.
Reciprocation vs continuous rotation: clinical indications and differences.
Apical finishing: precision and clinical value.

HANDS-ON SESSION

Practical training with the ProcodileQ and FQ systems using next-generation endodontic motors.

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

  • How does the biomechanics of a non-vital tooth influence treatment?
  • Understanding coronal leakage and how to prevent it.
  • Assessment of residual tooth structure and indications for direct restorations in posterior teeth.
  • Adhesive restorations and a comparison of different adhesive systems.
  • Managing Class II restorations and how to achieve effective contact areas.
  • Restoration with post and full crown.
  • Partial crowns: composite and ceramic inlays.
  • Mock-ups as an essential communication tool with the patient.
  • Ceramic veneers: indications and rationale.
  • Use of digital impression systems and their advantages.
  • Preparation phases for inlays and finishing using hand and sonic instruments.
  • Cementation of composite and ceramic inlays.
  • Direct inlays guided by silicone indexes: an “alternative” and highly predictable technique.

HANDS-ON SESSION

Participants will perform hands-on exercises using sonic handpieces, red-ring handpieces, and micromotors on models, including:

  • Class II and Class I restorations

  • Fiber post placement
