Modern Endodontics: Diagnosis, Treatment & Retreatment with Advanced Protocols
This course is designed to provide dentists with comprehensive, up-to-date training in the management of both primary and retreatment endodontic cases, from diagnosis to clinical execution.
Main objectives of the course:
Teach participants how to approach different endodontic cases with a correct diagnostic and therapeutic strategy
Guide the selection and use of modern technologies, advanced materials, and evidence-based techniques for both primary treatments and retreatments
Enable clinicians to apply complete clinical protocols independently, from simple to complex cases
Ensure a predictable and long-term clinical success for patients
With a structured theoretical and practical approach, this course helps professionals improve clinical effectiveness, precision, and treatment outcomes in endodontics.
THEORETICAL PART
Diagnosis in Endodontics
The importance of using the microscope and magnification systems
The role of pre-endodontic restoration and management of the deep cervical margin
Access cavity: instruments and techniques
Canal scouting
Proper use of apex locators and modern endodontic motors
Manual and mechanical preflaring
Shaping the root canal with rotary and reciprocating instruments
Apical finishing
Management of complex anatomies, canal confl uences, C-shaped and accessory canals
Hands-on exercises
THEORETICAL PART
Irrigation: basic principles for effective root canal disinfection
Enhancing protocols for canal debridement and disinfection
Retreatment:
Prognostic factors in endodontics
Coronal disassembly
Identification and treatment of missed canals
Removal of filling materials and overcoming ledges
Warm techniques and cold bioceramics
Hands-on exercises
THEORETICAL PART
Causes of fracture in endodontically treated teeth
Criteria for selecting the appropriate approach for endodontically treated teeth
Assessment of the restorability of dental elements
Guidelines for using fiber posts in the restoration of endodontically treated teeth
Whitening of non-vital teeth
Direct restoration of endodontically treated teeth in posterior areas
Direct restoration of endodontically treated teeth in anterior areas
Different therapeutic options:
Aesthetic adhesive restorations (direct and indirect)
Prosthetic restorations
PRACTICAL PART
Live demonstration by the speaker on a simulator using extracted teeth, with closed-circuit video recording:
Case 1 – Direct conservative restoration of an endodontically treated tooth (posterior or anterior): removal of temporary filling, selection of structures to preserve and prepare, cavity refinement, adhesive treatment, chamber build-up, cementation of fiber-reinforced posts based on structural needs, direct restoration and final finishing.
Participants will then carry out, under the supervision of the instructor and with real-time feedback, each phase of one of the following restorative options using properly devitalized, thoroughly cleaned extracted teeth stored in physiological solution:
Direct restoration of an endodontically treated posterior tooth
Direct restoration of an endodontically treated anterior tooth
Direct core build-up under existing bridges using adhesive techniques
Note: Each participant must cement at least one fiber post, regardless of the chosen restorative option.
This course is designed for dentists and dental professionals who want to deepen and refine their approach to modern endodontics, covering both primary treatments and retreatments.
It is particularly suited for:
General practitioners looking to gain greater confidence and autonomy in managing endodontic cases, including complex ones.
Endodontists seeking to stay up to date with the latest technologies, advanced materials, and effective clinical protocols.
Clinicians who aim to improve the quality and long-term predictability of their treatments by fully integrating both endodontic and restorative phases.
The course includes hands-on sessions with extracted teeth, making it ideal for professionals who want to immediately apply what they learn in their clinical practice.
