The course “Vertical Preparations and Provisional Management for Veneers and Crowns” provides an updated clinical approach to modern preparation techniques in restorative dentistry and fixed prosthodontics, reflecting recent advancements in materials, digital workflows and soft tissue management.

Increasingly adopted in both full and partial restorations, vertical preparations allow optimal control of the emergence profile and gingival tissues compared to traditional horizontal preparations. The course explores the classification of vertical preparations according to sulcular depth, clinical decision-making criteria, operative timing and the combined use of rotary and sonic instrumentation.

Special emphasis is placed on provisional restoration management, a critical phase for soft tissue conditioning and accurate final impressions. Through a structured mix of theoretical sessions and hands-on exercises on models, participants will gain practical, reproducible protocols for predictable veneer and crown treatments in both analog and digital workflows.
