Who is Komet?

Since 1923, Komet has been designing, manufacturing, and distributing tools of excellence for dentists and dental technicians on the international market using state-of-the-art technologies and production processes. From its facility in Lemgo, Germany, Komet supplies its subsidiaries and distributors in most countries around the world. Komet is a family-owned business, and since its foundation, it has never stopped setting new global standards in all dental fields, thanks to a research center focused on the future and numerous patents across its wide range of products.

A wide range of instruments

The Komet catalogue includes a wide range of instruments specific to every dental field: from diamond tools for prosthetics and cavity preparation to burs for surgery, restorative, endodontics, orthodontics, periodontology, and much more.

Thanks to the wide variety of specialised instruments produced by Komet, the dentist always has the best tool with the most suitable shape at their disposal, allowing them to optimise time by performing the procedure in the best way, with better visibility and greater control.

Recent surveys, such as the 2023 iConsult report, have highlighted that Komet Italia ranks at the top in terms of brand awareness indicators in the dental market and in terms of the willingness of users to recommend Komet solutions to colleagues. The Net Promoter Score reached a value of 35, which is considered excellent.
Komet has been present in Italy since 1986 with a subsidiary, whose operational headquarters and Training Center are in Verona. With over 30 years of activity in the dental instruments market for dentists and dental technicians, Komet Italia is now a leading player in the dental market.

Thanks to an extensive sales network made up of around one hundred specialists, Komet Italia supplies dental practices and dental laboratories across the entire national territory. Our mission is to simplify and improve daily clinical practice, on one hand with advanced solutions based on Made in Germany products, and on the other with the services of the Komet Academy, a community of experienced clinicians that offers highly successful cultural services such as congresses, courses, books, clinical videos, and the scientific blog on this website.

Services to improve your clinical practice

Founded in 2017, the Komet Academy is active in scientific research in the field of dental and stomatological sciences. Its members, coordinated by Prof. Massimo Gagliani, research and disseminate knowledge and operational methods to understand which tools are best for treating patients, who are often seeking less invasive and more tissue-friendly treatments for the oral cavity. Scientific dissemination is therefore the primary mission of the Komet Academy, which in 2021 published, in collaboration with the publisher EDRA, the first clinical volume Taglio & Forma – Rational Use of Burs and Sonic Inserts in Everyday Dentistry, followed in the subsequent years by Endo e Resto, SONIC - the first book in the world on sonic techniques in dentistry, and Restaurativa. In just a few years, over 17,000 copies of these books have been distributed to libraries of Italian dentists, and this editorial success motivates our Academy to continue and develop its educational activities in the years to come.
