Live demonstration of CHI fabrication

• Preparation of the master model

• Removal from the model and finishing procedures

Note: If you wish to fabricate the CHI for one of your own clinical cases during the course, you should prepare the diagnostic wax-up beforehand, duplicate it using a precision silicone material, and pour it in Type IV dental stone. Alternatively, you may bring a stereolithographic model produced from a digital workflow.

What You Need to Bring

• Wax spatula (Peter Thomas type)
• Resin finishing burs
• Laboratory scalpel with No. 11 blade

Hands-on Session. Monolithic Injection Technique – ONE STAGE–TWO STEPS

• Fabrication of a conventional transparent silicone index using a standard impression tray on a P-OCCLUSAL model with intact teeth.
• Alternate isolation of worn/eroded maxillary incisors using PTFE (Teflon) tape.
• Adhesive procedure on alternating teeth.
• First injection phase using flowable composite (lateral incisor–central incisor), followed by finishing procedures.
• Second injection phase using flowable composite (central incisor–lateral incisor).
• Finishing, polishing and final high-gloss polishing of the four maxillary incisors.

• Laboratory scalpel with No. 11 blade
• Red-ring speed-increasing contra-angle handpiece or turbine with Multiflex coupling
• Straight handpiece
• Medium-grit flame-shaped diamond bur (Komet Ref. 862-314-010)
• Reciprocating handpiece with 40–50 μm strips/blades (optional)
• Sonic handpiece with Komet SHAPE inserts SFD2F–SFM2F (optional)
• Polishing points and cups (e.g. Identoflex HiLuster Gloss, blue and grey)
• High-gloss polishing paste (e.g. Opal-L Cerium Oxide, Renfert)
